Math Workshop
Units of Study:
This month we will be exploring Geometry !
We will be exploring the attributes of polygons these next few weeks. Our focus will be on triangles & quadrilaterals. We will practice measuring the perimeter of these shapes to help sharpen our measurement skills. We will continue to work on addition & subtraction computation. Those who are ready will participate in challenge activities focusing on finding the area and other measurements of other geometric shapes (circles, etc)
Ongoing: rounding, multi-step problem solving, computation, basic multiplication
Math Facts-
Please continue to study flashcards every night (many computer websites have fun "fast facts" activities. I will post links soon! I am sure the students already know some favorite websites!
We study facts for 10-15 minutes every day in class. Please do the same at home as often as you can. As soon as your child has mastered addition and subtraction, move on to multiplication and divison.
Materials we use for math:
Blue Folder
Math marble composition Journal
Ruler, protractor
colored pencils, scissors, glue
Homework:
Math Homework:
Workbook pages or Dreambox & flashcards if nothing is assigned
